For over 20 years, Vine Cliff has been committed to producing its wines according to the strictures of sustainable viticulture. To this end, our growers avoid artificial fertilizers, commercial pesticides and herbicides whenever possible.
The winery also uses organic materials from previous harvests to produce soil-enriching compost – about 10 tons of it each year. In addition, the entire vineyard is cultivated in a manner that optimizes both our unique grapes and the native plant species of the region into a harmonious growing balance.
The growers at Vine Cliff also take their passion for natural cultivation into the actual winemaking process, often hand harvesting and sorting recently picked grapes. This extra care reflects itself in the consistent character and quality of our estate wines.
Vine Cliff Winery’s wines are always produced with an effort to showcase the character and magic of the region, and our current Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay varietals are no exception.
Our current Cabernet Sauvignon is characterized by a rich palate with flavors of currant, blackberry, with hints of dark chocolate, intense black fruit, and licorice. These flavor notes all lead to a long finish typified by supple tannins.
Our current Vine Cliff Chardonnays are complex in character, with crisp flavors of tropical fruit, apple and citrus, building to a smooth, clean lingering
